Reshaping Waste, Restoring Nature

How it works

At Canterbury Environmental Solutions, we apply our leading 3 step process to all civil and construction waste management.

Proof of
placement

Canterbury Environmental Solutions ensures transparency with our proof of placement system, providing time-stamped documentation along with photos for each waste load from entry to final placement. This guarantees compliance and gives you peace of mind for no legacy issues from the disposal of civil and construction waste.

Our
process

Once the civil and construction waste is accredited, it is allocated to the appropriate facility based on its acceptance criteria. The waste then gets directed to our transfer site at either 619 Halswell Junction Road or the Temuka remediation pad for stabilisation and neutralisation. If remediation isn’t required, the waste is moved directly to the Taiko-managed fill. Remediated products are subsequently delivered to their final destination. We provide full traceability of all products, with live tracking available for customers to monitor progress.

Complete
paperwork

To ensure compliance and accuracy during the quoting process, you will need to complete specific forms. This form is designed to capture essential details about the waste type, transporter/client, composition, and volume. By completing this form, the information provided allows us to give you an accurate quote. This process can be completed online or by a simple phone call.

Acceptance Criteria

The Taiko Managed Fill site accepts construction and demolition waste under strict environmental and regulatory standards. All waste must be accompanied by supporting documentation, such as laboratory reports, to ensure compliance. Asbestos-contaminated soil is accepted by prior arrangement, while bulk putrescible matter (organic waste) is restricted to a maximum tolerance of 2%.

Aesbestos acceptance

Asbestos-contaminated waste is accepted by prior arrangement at our Taiko managed fill site.

It is the only managed fill site in New Zealand that accepts asbestos. We follow rigorous procedures to protect both staff and the environment, adhering to regulatory guidelines for safe asbestos disposal.

To ensure safety, asbestos must be securely double-bagged and sealed in compliance with strict handling protocols.

If you need to dispose of asbestos, please contact our team to discuss your requirements and arrange proper handling and disposal.
